Position Summary: 
ofi’s Twenty Degrees cacao business supplies unique, high end, traceable cocoa beans to artisan bean to bar chocolate producers around the world. The sales and business head role will be accountable for the complete commercial direction of the business including sales, marketing and strategy.

This will involve developing and executing on a complete short and long-term business strategy that encompasses vision, goals, financial/sales/operational objectives, marketing plans and resourcing. This will require a complete understanding of customers objectives/requirements and competition. Significant support will be provided on origination and supply chain, which will utilize ofi’s world class cocoa sourcing network.

This is an opportunity in a key strategic initiative area for ofi, which will offer high-level management exposure and great growth prospects. This role will appeal to individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset who are self-motivated and willing to work in a start-up environment within the support structure of a larger organization. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute an extensive global strategy to grow the specialty beans business.
  • Drive business development (with new and existing customers) to increase reach through a deep understanding of the market and increase market share in each region based on yearly objectives.
  • Overall responsibility for developing and implementing the branding and marketing strategy in line with short- and long-term commercial objectives, together with relevant marketing experts.
  • Participation in trade fairs (and other marketing platforms) to showcasing the business portfolio to potential customers.
  • Portfolio expansion and management in line with market trends and needs of the business.
  • Coordinating with origins to ensure quality and sustainability activities on the ground are as per the company commitments.
  • Ensure execute on bookings and logistics instructions in coordination with different teams within the company. This includes overseeing inventory management at overseas warehouses and ensuring deliveries of samples and cocoa beans to clients.
  • Growing and developing a sales team to ensure the business continuity and growth for the future.

 

Position Requirements: 

  • Graduate or higher with 5-10 years of relevant work experience preferably in either the cocoa or chocolate markets, and ideally in the specialty cocoa beans sector.
  • Good connections in the chocolate industry and ideally the craft chocolate industry.
  • An ownership/‘self-starter’ mindset, someone who is willing to go the extra mile in order to build a business.
  • Good understanding and experience in sales and marketing.
  • Strong commercial/financial orientation with the ability to understand key market scenarios.
  • Excellent attention to detail and numbers.
  • Exposure in managing the scale of operations and enlarging the team size as required.
  • Strong people management, communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to collaborate with and influence a matrix of internal and external customers at varied levels.
  • The ability to act dynamically and fast based on experience.
  • Willingness to travel.
