Key Account Manager Dairy

 

Profile of the position

The Dairy KAM will be responsible for buying and selling milk powders within the team. (S)he will maintain the relationships with the company’s clients, suppliers, and subsidiaries to obtain a broad and precise vision on the market they operate in. One of the KAM’s main responsibilities is developing business in assigned countries. International travelling is required for this position; approx. 25-30% of the time (in a post Covid situation). The Dairy KAM will work closely with the Dairy team in the Netherlands and North Africa. The position is based out of Amsterdam area, The Netherlands.

 

Accountabilities
The Dairy KAM will be responsible for:

  • Maintain current customers portfolio and develop new customers in (region) North Africa (predominantly Algeria) for dairy commodities.
  • Work very closely with our origination team in South America to keep abreast with prices, product availability and market trends.
  • May look for alternate sourcing potentials for the North Africa market.
  • Analyze market levels and propose price levels to origin/trading team, negotiate and finalize the contract.
  • Coordinate Loadings / shipments with suppliers and resolving pending issues.
  • Track and maintain the contracts register and ensure execution of contracts in close coordination with the suppliers and buyers.
  • Track the Profit and loss of the positions and debtors outstanding, ensure payments within agreed limits.
  • Weekly/ monthly reporting, position & sales, market reports, credit & health reports, contract updates.
  • Supplier and customer visits and updates on overall supply and demand in North Africa to the global Dairy team.
  • Develop an independent view about the market trend.

Education and experience required

  • Bachelor or Master Degree with preferably +- 5 years of work experience.
  • Food industry experience is a plus.
  •  Logistics experience will be an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong commercial capabilities and ambition to develop new markets / hunter personality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Fluent in English and French. Arabic is big plus.
  • Willingness to travel within EMEA region (in a post-Covid situation).
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Flexible mentality, integrity & taking initiative.
