Provide safety leadership and expertise within operations, warehouses and offices for ofi EMEA region (coffee, nuts, spices and dairy product platforms) and Cocoa globally. Work with regional safety teams and operational leaders to serve and support our facilities with the execution of company safety programs that will re-enforce our “Zero Harm” culture.  Built our capabilities and ability to prevent injuries and fatalities in effective way, assuring safety programs are properly implemented and that compliance to company & local law requirements is solid and sustainable



  • Build management ownership and enthusiasm around ofi Life Saving Rules approach and lead the journey of building and reaching the high maturity level of safety culture following “Zero Harm” approach;
  • Recognize safety risks and lead development of process safety within Cocoa and other products and recommend changes to prevent or eliminate identified risks following Hierarchy of Controls;
  • Advice on content applicability, provide guidance and support on the implementation of safety standards and design, coordinate and do governance on safety internal audits and capitalize best practices;
  • Establish and maintain an effective process of reporting and investigating incidents and process incidents, support investigations of serious events/ process incidents, coach teams on good quality of it, perform effective reviews of actions follow up, with the special focus on serious ones or being serious potential;
  • Conduct regular safety facility visits – do walk the talk and coach local leaders on safety principles and assure effective management of identified areas of improvements;
  • Establish and support Leadership safety development skills across all levels in the organization, be the coach and assure our leaders lead and own safety in their respective areas of responsibility;
  • Drive the professional development our safety professionals, cooperating with local leadership to ensure;
  • a solid professional support and create succession pipeline, develop and conduct safety training, coach management & safety teams on safety topics for all locations;
  • Develop and implement safety innovations that strengthens building excellence safety culture;
  • Work across all product platforms and support global safety team on development of global or product specific safety programs and initiatives.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Occupational health and safety or engineering with an emphasis in safety, or closely related field, or equivalent work experience required;
  • At least 10 years’ experience in a similar role within global agribusiness / manufacturing/ FMCG sector, with at least 3 years in a safety leadership role at regional or business level;
  • Certified Safety professional, experienced safety trainer and coach;
  • Strong leadership skills – driving changes, creating engagement;
  • Assertive and strong believer in the power of teamwork and alignment;
  • Experienced safety trainer and coach;
  • Ability to think strategically combined with strong hands-on approach;
  • Ability to interact across all levels in the organization and build trustful relationships with key stakeholders;
  • Fluent in English and proficient in an any EMEA language (e.g. Dutch, German, Spanish, Turkish or French);
  • Ability to travel around 50% of time.
