THE ROLE
We are looking for a Chef who is focused, motivated, enthusiastic and has great work ethics. 

ofi Cocoa is one of the world’s foremost cocoa companies with a global sourcing, manufacturing and sales footprint. ofi Cocoa is the leading supplier of cocoa ingredients through world recognised brands including the iconic deZaan. This role will be part of ofi Cocoa’s Product Development and Innovation team (PD&I) but will work closely with the newly formed Olam Cocoa For Professionals (OCPro) business, which has been set up to drive global sales of small packs of cocoa ingredients to professional chefs, bakers and pâtissiers. You will be working closely with other departments in ofi such as PD&I, R&D and other relevant departments. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Work hand in hand with the lead Chef for both the regional/global OCPro team to develop engaging value proposition for professional chefs to start using deZaan cocoa ingredients. 
  • Meet with customers (both direct and indirect) and demonstrate how deZaan ingredients can be best used within applications, and communicate which ingredients are most suitable for a specific application (and why).
  • Aid with the development of a library of recipes that best showcase deZaan cocoa ingredients and provides interesting content to engage with end users.  
  • Aid with the culture change within OFI to become a more food and end-application focused organization. 
  • Support the wider PD&I team to develop innovative new products that can be used with the OCPro Chef team.
  • Comfortable with taking on responsibilities for new and existing project
  • Aide with innovation development alongside our Research and Development team. 
  • Demonstrate deZaan ingredients and recipes through demonstrations/ workshops at events. These events can include trade fairs, culinary gatherings etc.
  • Organizing and preparations for Photoshoots, webinars and videography session. 
  • Travel up to approx. 20% of your time to customers and ofi locations (given the COVID-19 situation)


 

THE CANDIDATE 

  • 8-12 years relevant Chef experience in bakery, patisserie, confectionery and/or other similar fields. 
  • Having relevant working experience in a similar commercial environment is a big advantage.
  • Formal education as pastry chef with strong knowledge on cocoa and/or chocolate.
  • With a passion for food and creating new and innovative products
  • Flexible and open to new situations, cultures and people. 
  • Adapts quickly to change and good at multi-tasking. 
  • Motivated and enthusiastic in learning new things.
  • Comfortable with speaking and teaching in a seminar setting. (50+ people)
  • Fluent in English and preferably another European language such as German or Dutch.
  • Knowledgeable in pastry techniques: confectionary, baking, chocolate, snacks and beverages. 
  • Interested in new trends and developments in the international food industry.
