Role Description
This is a dynamic position in a leading, core business platform (Cocoa) of ofi (Olam Food Ingredients) global agri-business. The role requires a candidate who is exceptionally passionate about cocoa and chocolate and possesses a creative, forward-looking mindset with brand management and digital experience. The ideal candidate must also have experience in project management, and excellent organisational and communications skills. 

A successful applicant must possess the ability to initiate and manage multiple marketing and communications projects simultaneously, on a global scale, and while interacting effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Role will require both strategic thinking as well as actual execution follow-through. Successful applicant must understand product brands and their marketing, ideally either directly from or related to the cocoa/chocolate/confectionery sectors and landscape. This should include the relationship between the creation and management of physical and digital assets to support and promote product brands. Ideal candidate should have experience working in brand management at major multi-national and/or in FMCG/PCG space.
 
Based in ofi offices in the NL this role has a local and Global remit and will primarily report to the Cocoa Brands Lead, while also closely collaborating with Product Line Managers (PLMs) for cocoa powder, cocoa mass and cocoa butter, the Product R&D team, the ofi team, and with external agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day branding and marketing activities of multiple brands and build productive working relationships with the extended cross functional team and external parties;
  • Assist in the Brand Strategy and Brand Marketing/Communication development; 
  • Provide the required administrative and marketing support to the team & manage project budgets; 
  • Creatively drive forward our cocoa propositions through innovative brand initiatives and projects (from ideation all the way through to final execution) which enforce the business’ position as a leading global supplier of cocoa ingredients; 
  • Support the brand strategies, positioning, messaging, and guidelines for Cocoa Brands with a primary focus on elevating the market position of global brand deZaan
  • Bring the respective individual products, product lines and services of these to life through projects that appeal to key, relevant stakeholders (internal and external) - promoting product flavour, colour, consistency and application usage worldwide, as well as catering for specific, regional marketing strategies and initiatives in partnership with regional counterparts; 
  • Support the team in the development and launch of new product propositions;
  • Work closely with key PLMs (product line manages) and PDI (product development and innovation team), promoting the products and services they represent and supporting their sales goals and market leadership position ambitions. 
  • Find synergies and cross selling opportunities with extended ofi team.
  • Understand and communicate insights and costumer journeys to the team;
  • Identify best channels to reach target audience and convert for both traditional and digital communication, and build channel plans with prioritization goals.
  • Accountable for reports on performance by constantly:
    • Evaluating performance of support activities and implementation against measurable objectives
    • Monitoring food and ingredient trends for the region/local area
    • Reporting on brand activities and initiatives of key competitors
  • Based on performance monitoring, accountable to: 
    • Identify solutions and make recommendations to improve effectiveness
    • Investigate opportunities and recommend how to re-vitalise existing, physical promotional materials and content in novel, dynamic and interactive formats 
    • Identify and develop new product / communication propositions 

Personal requirements

  • University Bachelor or Master degree in marketing;
  • A minimum of 5-7 years working experience;
  • Preferably you gained experience in marketing/brand activities/ Digital / Social media / E-commerce experience – strategy, content and management;
    • Ideally you have had experience at an international / multi-national company;
  • Digitally focused role in the last year with experience in building digital marketing ecosystems and social media management;
  • A deep passion for cocoa and chocolate!
  • Experience working directly within the food industry / dessert / agri business, cocoa and/or chocolate sectors;
  • Complete English language fluency (written and verbal);
  • Excellent overall communications skills (written and verbal);
  • Project management skills;
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for delivering projects on deadline and to completion;
  • Entrepreneurial and collaborative (team focused) mind set, responsible and accountable with a ‘go getter’ and open-minded attitude, and ready to accept new challenges;
